Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
SureTutor connects guardians with tutors, currently in Mymensingh, Bangladesh. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It applies to our website, our social media pages, our WhatsApp and Messenger conversations, and any forms or ads that lead to them.
2. Information we collect
From tutors:
- At registration (Stage 1): name, gender, WhatsApp number, email address, Facebook profile link, current area, institution, department, year and semester, subjects and classes you can teach, medium, and a short note on your experience. Optionally, your latest result (CGPA) and your HSC college, year and GPA.
- For verification (Stage 2, if you are shortlisted for a tuition): your Unique ID, WhatsApp number, email address, present and permanent address, a parent or guardian's phone number (optional, for emergency contact only), and photos of your institution ID card (front and back), submitted through a second-step form. For a specific tuition, we may ask for further details.
- Tuition updates you send us: the confirmed demo time, whether a demo class was held, the agreed monthly salary and duration after your third class, and when you receive your first month's salary.
From guardians:
- Name, phone or WhatsApp number, area and address, and the tuition requirement (the student's name, class, subjects, school or college, schedule, and tutor preference). For a tuition referred by a Partner, these details may come to us from the Partner.
- We collect information about students only from their guardians or Partners. We do not collect it directly from children.
From partners:
- If you refer a tuition to us, we collect your name, phone number and payment details, only to record your referrals and pay your share.
Automatically:
- Our hosting provider may automatically record basic technical data when you visit our website (such as IP address, device and browser type) in server logs.
- We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our website (for example, which pages are visited and from what type of device). It uses cookies and similar technologies and collects data such as IP address, device and browser information, and pages viewed.
- We use the Meta Pixel to measure the effectiveness of our ads and to show our ads to relevant people. It uses cookies and similar technologies, and sends Meta information such as your IP address, browser details, the pages you view, and whether you tap our WhatsApp contact button. We do not send your name, phone number or email to Meta through the Pixel.
- Information that Meta (Facebook, Instagram) and WhatsApp provide to us when you contact us through them or through our ads.
3. How we use it
- To register tutors, issue Unique IDs and verify profiles.
- To verify tutors before their first tuition.
- To understand a guardian's need and suggest suitable tutors.
- To arrange demo classes, follow up on tuitions, and track tutor updates and fee payments.
- To record referrals and pay Partners their share.
- To send updates about our services, terms and relevant information, mainly through WhatsApp.
- With a guardian's consent, to send occasional messages about our services (for example, before the next academic year) by WhatsApp or email. A guardian can ask us to stop at any time.
- To improve our website, services and advertising.
4. Who sees your information
- Guardians see a tutor's profile (such as institution, department, subjects and experience). We do not show ID documents or verification records to guardians.
- Selected tutors receive a guardian's contact details, address and tuition requirement only so they can arrange the tuition.
- Internal records: we keep internal notes and ratings about tutors (for example responsiveness and guardian feedback) to match tutors to tuitions. We do not record religion or political views. You may request a copy of these on request.
- Platforms and service providers that we use to run our website, store data and communicate (for example hosting, database, messaging, analytics and advertising platforms) process data on our behalf. They are bound by their own terms and privacy policies.
- We do not sell your information. We do not share it with anyone else without your consent, except where the law requires it or to protect our rights.
5. Advertising and tracking
We run ads on Meta platforms (Facebook and Instagram) and other social platforms. When you click an ad, submit a lead form or message us, those platforms may collect information under their own policies. Information you submit to us is handled under this policy.
Our website uses Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel, as described in Section 2. You can limit this tracking by blocking or clearing cookies in your browser, using a browser or extension that blocks trackers, opting out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on, or adjusting your ad preferences in your Facebook and Instagram settings. If you block cookies, the website will still work, but we may not be able to measure your visit.
6. Storage and security
We store your information securely and keep it for as long as needed for the purposes above, or until you ask us to delete it. ID card photos and verification details are kept until you ask us to delete them. Guardian and student records are kept for as long as needed to arrange and follow up tuitions and, where the guardian has agreed, to send occasional messages about our services, or until the guardian asks us to delete them. We take reasonable steps to protect it from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction. No online system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your choices
You may ask us to show you a copy of your information, correct it, delete it, or stop sending you updates. You may also withdraw your consent at any time. Contact us on WhatsApp at 01601019823 or by email at suretutor.online@gmail.com. We will act on your request promptly.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy at any time. The current version and its "Last updated" date are always on suretutor.online/privacy. We may, but are not obliged to, notify you of changes. If you do not agree with a change, you may stop using our services and ask us to delete your data. Continuing to use our services after a change means you accept it.
9. Company status
SureTutor is currently operating as an unregistered business and is working toward formal legal registration. We will update this policy when that is complete. Our commitment to protecting your data remains unchanged.
10. Governing law
This policy is governed by the laws of Bangladesh.
11. Language
This policy is published in English, and the English version is the only binding version. Explanations in Bangla on our website, in messages or in group posts are summaries for convenience; if there is any difference, the English version prevails.
